“Men seldom make passes / At girls who wear glasses,” was a couplet made famous by Dorothy Rothschild Parker. 😮

Parker, a witty poet, short story writer and screenwriter of, “A Star is Born,” was born on this day in 1893.

Once on the editorial staff of Vogue, a critic for Vanity Fair, she served the longest as a contributing writer for The New Yorker.

On two other notes:

The 1976 remake of “A Star is Born,” is one of my FAVORITE movies, and features one of my FAVORITE vocalists and actors, Barbara Streisand. I’ve always wanted to see her perform live.

And I will keep my glasses handy for those guys who shouldn’t even try. The only pass I want from “Jeromey Rome” types is for them to pass me by. 😉
