Prayer changes things every day. Think about it. Our up days could be better, and a down day could have been worse.
When a lousy driver rammed her car into the side of my car while I was driving to my physical therapy appointment a few years ago, it was a horrible day. But I walked away from the accident unscathed, so my down day was not as down as it could have been.
Furthermore, Scripture quotes the Lord as declaring, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9) I do not want to limit the goodness by limiting God and thinking that on my up days, I have it all figured out. Each day I need Wisdom from above. And the only way I know to gain it is through prayer.
So amen to Cathy Hughes’ advice to pray at all times. As a successful entrepreneur, she knows her business and has been someone I have admired for years.
Hughes is the founder and chairperson of Urban One, Inc. (formerly Radio One, Inc.)
Once the 2nd richest Black woman in the United States, she is the first to head a publicly traded company.
Urban One, Inc., is the largest Black-owned multimedia conglomerate in the country comprised of a television network, local and syndicated radio group, a digital company, and a branded content agency.
One of her television channels, is TV One. I enjoy watching the “Unsung” stories there. Hughes manages to find all of our favorite celebrities from “back-in-the-day” and provides the backstory many of us never knew.

Fun fact: Hughes is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. 💖💚
