A little more than a week ago, I was shocked to learn that seven hundred twenty-two (722) children in my community were in foster care. That’s 722 too many. Do you realize the urgency of this situation? Do you know the number of children in need of a loving home in your neighborhood?
I would not have known about this crisis had it not been for a private showing of SOUND of HOPE: The Story of Possum Trot at the Marion Theatre. Every Day Jesus Ministries sponsored the event, which was designed to tug at the audience’s heartstrings.
And the King answering, will say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of the least of these brothers and sisters of Mine, you did it to Me.’
Matthew 25:40
Their spokesperson, Grace Daly, started the evening by sharing heartbreaking statistics. She also offered solutions because everyone can do something! Daly told us that our individual actions can make a positive change for a child, not hundreds or even thousands of miles away, but one within our local community. This is the power we hold in our hands.
If you would like to learn more, please access the QR code on the image above, and also make plans to see the movie now playing at a theatre near you. And if you have a church or are a church leader, please show the ten minute video to your congregation. I do not doubt that you will be encouraged to do something to provide and/or support a healthy, loving home for children in failing situations.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13
May God bless those who will stand up for the voiceless. Thank you for your attention. 🙏🏽❤️ In His Love, Really,
Leah
