Happy Labor Day, Everyone!

When our holiday is over, may we return to the righteous work of our hand (a.k.a. the thing God gave us to give to this world).
I was thinking this morning that it would be great if we all did what God designed us to do when we were told to do it. Did you catch that combo action? Doing a “timely work” makes a real difference.
While I am sure, somebody somewhere knows of an eighty-year-old person who is out there physically cranking out homes for foster kids but wouldn’t it have been better if they had started working with a hammer and nails at least four decades sooner? IJS.
Sitting on a dream is a wasted gift. I believe that our work, large and small, makes the best of us all. And I think the bible backs me up:
“For we are God’s fellow workers;” 1 Corinthians 3:9
“Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord and not for people,” Colossians 3:23
“Give her the product of her hands, And let her works praise her in the gates.” Proverbs 31:31
Being talented enough to do what no one else can do–quite like you do it–is a calling that should never be wasted. It is a generosity you grant to the world.
So, my dear reader, continue to do you without comparison and complaining. With this mindset, I believe you and I will find rest when we labor according to God’s will.
Be safe,
Leah
