Short and Sweet # 7. You’ve Got This.

Be encouraged. You’ve got it. Everything, in fact. But the question is, are you using the gifts that will make you powerfully effective in your walk as a Christ follower?

It’s like being in a room nearly consumed by fire and in a corner hangs the largest most powerful fire extinguisher ever made. Among its many features is the ability to spray water in three directions simultaneously without you, the carrier, getting wet. With this machine, you can practically walk through the fire, singe-free. But there is one caveat to escaping—you have to take the fire extinguisher off the wall and douse the fire.

Simple, right?

Well, the Word of God is like that big fire extinguisher and it is waiting for us to pick it up and activate the promises therein.

2 Peter 1:3-4 AMPC states that “For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue). By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through them you may escape [by flight] from the moral decay (rottenness and corruption) that is in the world because of covetousness (lust and greed), and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature.”

You see, we really do have everything we need to escape the little fires everywhere, as well as the rotten corruption in the world. But we must put it to use.

So I challenge you as I challenge myself, to be a hearer (faith comes by hearing) and a So I challenge you as I challenge myself, to be a hearer (faith comes by hearing) and a doer of the Word. We’ve got the tools. Let’s read it, act upon it, and live courageously today and every day.

Yours in faith,

Leah
