Another Motive Me Monday
Complete is defined as having all necessary parts, elements, or steps. Nothing is missing when we are complete.
We can associate people with the term, as in a highly proficient or skilled person or having a full life.
On the other hand, “complicated” is defined as difficult to analyze, understand, or explain, as in a complicated person or having a twisted life. We should seek to have all parts of our life working together and in the way they were designed to function. Nobody wants their knee trying to be their hand or their ear trying to be their mouth. And under those conditions, we extend more time than necessary getting to our expected destinations. That’s complicated.
There should be no discussion on which lifestyle is best.
Be Complete, Not Complicated
We should never say, “Oh that’s unattainable.” Because living a full life or becoming proficient in a skill is completely possible!
The necessary parts of a full life include living out our spiritual, physical, emotional, relational, and financial goals on a consistent basis. Let’s use weekly as a time frame. By prioritizing our agenda based, purposefully, on where we seek to be by the end of the week, we can begin creating a complete life.
“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” – Leonardo da Vincio
The plan is to build a sensible calendar in which we don’t have too many proverbial eggs in any one basket. We know we need time for our spiritual development, and our health, we need to work and give something back to the world, we need dedicated time with family and friends, and we need to steward the tangible things we have been blessed with. We schedule all the things we know, prioritizing our big needs, and once we have done that, we can fill in our calendar with the trivial things or emergencies that will come up.
A complete life is better than trying to have a work-life balance because a complete life engages with every aspect of who we are and why we exist at all times. It is not about changing hats to fit this crowd or another, it is always about being the people God created us to be.
We humans need completeness and fullness of life, not complicated, drama-ridden days and nights. I am not perfect at this by far, but I am learning enough to help myself and others be authentic creatures, living better, blessed lives. Remember, character performances are best left on stage, and thrillers are only useful for story tales, but “simplicity is the essence of happiness.”
Let’s Uncomplicate This
One of my favorite proverbs on life reads, The path of the righteous is as the light of dawn, That shineth more and more unto the perfect day. (JPS Tanak 1917). I challenge you to seek and find this type of lifestyle, one that makes you shine. If you need help, please contact me: Leah@reallyleah.com or write a message below.
