There is no reason to dread another Monday if you take Eliphaz’s advice to Job: Thou shalt decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee, and the light shall shine upon thy ways. (Job 22:28). Simply put, we, like Job, must remember to Stand Strong Even in Strenuous Seasons.
When I truly decided to get up from my deathbed, nobody could stop the promises of healing from coming true in my life. I began to see and feel healthy even before I could fully embrace it physically. In my mind, I had decided or decreed that health would be mine again, and before long, I was not the only person who could tell that something had changed not only on the outside but on the inside as well. My outward glow transcended the natural and illuminated my way forward.
We all experience tough times and challenges in life. It rains and pours on everyone. However, there is a grander plan (a purpose) for your life than the moment you feel stuck inside right now. So often, it takes us being tested and trying to walk in true comfort, peace, and success. But don’t let the test defeat you—triumph over it.
As the cliché goes, it is not over until it is over. There is a God who knew you in your mother’s womb, and that same God has a purpose for your life. So don’t cry about the storms (and if you do, don’t cry for long), but decree a thing that God has said about you and see it established.
Decide to be healthy.
Decide to be kind.
Decide to be prosperous.
Decide to be generous.
Decide to love others as yourself.
Decide.
Stand Strong on God’s promises.
Stick to your decisions.
And let God light your way.
Benson’s Commentary posits, “Thy purposes shall not be disappointed, but ratified by God. And in all thy counsels and actions, God shall give thee the light of his direction and governance, and of comfort and success.”
That sounds like God’s favor to me. So make a decision today to know God better and witness the Light of God shining over the course of your life.
Decide and go forward with favor. Really,
Leah
