PERSIST

Be Productive and Persistent with all that God has placed in your realm of responsibility:

  • Spiritually – be the Christian (Saint and Jesus Follower) you confess to be.
  • Emotionally – be the stable, joyous, reasonable person you believe to be.
  • Physically – be the healthy, active person you were built to be.
  • Relationally – be the spouse, family member, and friend you need to be.
  • Financially – be the generous and prosperous person you are meant to be.

Use the talent and gifts you have to make the world better than you found it.

We are all in different stages and seasons in life. My Monday, August 28, 2023, may not look like yours, which is why comparing ourselves to others is unproductive. Going from where you know you are today, requires honesty.

Where are you today in terms of your spiritual, emotional, physical, relational, and financial life? Are you on course with your plans for this month? We are only four days away from a new one. Are you doing well with your goals?

If you are not where you had hoped to have been by the first of September, I want you to follow these steps based on my example of not being where I need to be with my new exercise and eating plan.

  • Examine why you have not met your goal.
  • Take a sheet of paper and divide it into four columns.
  • In the first column, write down the goals you are behind on or haven’t started:
    • I am not using my exercise and eating plan.
  • List any barriers to accomplishing your goals for the month in the next column.
    •  I did not get to the grocery store until late.
    • I lost momentum.
    • The meal plan is not convenient for me. Keeping everything in my phone, on an app, is not going to help me remember to open the app.
    • I get too busy to work out.
  • Use the third column to list what you can do to get back on track.
    • I will print out the meals for the week and put them on the refrigerator. I need the recipes printed, too, placed in a folder, and left in the kitchen.
    • I need to make a schedule to do my exercises and stick with it.
  • Lastly, in column four, give everything in column three a deadline.
    • I will do everything tonight before bed.
My Example of the Four Columns to Refocus

You can use this process for your financial and business goals, relationships, etc., whatever you are responsible for that is moving you from where you are now to where you hope to be.

During your honest assessments, you may find that you are trying to do too much at the same time or that non-priorities are zapping your time and energy. Either scenario needs a proper solution so that you can reestablish your productivity and persistence in the areas of your purpose.

Don’t lose sleep worrying about yesterday. Today is the day. This week is the time. To refocus on the Master plan.

And if you find that you are exactly where you need to be on all levels, then journey on! Keep doing what you are doing.  Your gifts, talents, and abilities are sure to make room for you when you give your whole self to this beautiful opportunity we call life. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10). Really,

Leah
